Hitachi Rail Italy awarded Service contracts worth 108 million Euro

Hitachi Rail Italy has been awarded three Service contracts for a total amount of 108 million Euro. They are for the provision of maintenance of Frecciarossa 1000, Frecciarossa 500 and TSR regional trains. The new contracts include activities of control, monitoring and maintenance through the supply of materials and experienced skilled labour.

The First Driverless Train of New Lima Metro, manufactured by Hitachi Rail Italy, arrives in Lima

Today Hitachi Rail Italy delivered train number 1 of the new automatic Lima Metro. The first 6 cars of the innovative train, built in Reggio Calabria were unloaded at the port of the Peruvian capital. The train, made of aluminium is 108 m long and 2,85 m wide, has a capacity of 166 seated and 1,105 standing passengers, and is capable of reaching a max speed of 90 km/h.

Hitachi Rail Italy is Awarded a Contract for the Supply of New Double Deck Regional Trains

Hitachi Rail Italy S.p.A. today announced that it was awarded a contract by Trenitalia to build 39 trains with 5 cars each, worth 333 million Euros. The contract award is part of a framework agreement to build up to 300 regional trains, for a total amount of approximately 2.6 billion Euros. The new fleet will operate across the Italian regional network of over 16,000 km.

The HR team at Hitachi Rail Europe Ltd. (HRE) in Newton Aycliffe is celebrating after being crowned the HR&D team of the year at the North East of England CIPD awards. Hitachi Rail Europe (HRE) was proud to host Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Prime Minister David Cameron at its recently refurbished North Pole train maintenance centre in West London. As part of a UK visit by the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr Shinzo Abe joined UK Prime Minister David Cameron for a tour of the rail facility, which will serve as one of the maintenance centres for new IEP trains.
