Unvelied the Train n.1 of the New Taipei Metro

Hitachi Rail Italy disclosed today, at the plant in Reggio Calabria, the prototype train (in the picture) of the new driverless metro intended for DORTS (Department of Rapid Transit Systems), expression of the local Government of the Municipality of Taipei.

Respecting the contractual times HRI delivered the first 4 cars that are part of a wide supply (HRI is awarded in a joint venture with Ansaldo STS who will provide the signaling system) which will see completion, by autumn of 2018, of 17 vehicles for a total number of 68 cars amounting to approximately 110 million euro for the HRI portion.

Each train, in configuration with 4 aluminum alloy cars, is a little more than 68 meters long, 2,65 mt. wide, can carry 98 seated and 555 standing passengers and can reach a speed of 80 km/h.
