Ansaldo STS and Linbrooke Services Limited have been awarded the contract worth £34.5 million (£15.15 million for Ansaldo STS and £19.35 million for Linbrooke) relating to the re-signalling of the line with computer based interlocking technology.
The CBI technology will be implemented to upgrade the 7 main stations served along the 35 miles between Ferriby and Gilbe

Hitachi Rail Italy today announces that a new fleet of AT300 trains for the UK train operating company Great Western Railway (GWR) will be manufactured at Hitachi Rail Italy’s facility in Pistoia. Hitachi Rail Europe finalised a deal in July 2015 to supply and maintain 29 brand new AT300 trains for the GWR franchise.
A contract worth 190 million euro for Hitachi Rail Italy. The rail company was awarded a contract by Trenitalia for the supply of new regional trains for the FS commuter service. The operator has exercised the right of option provided for in the contract signed in March 2010. The supply contract is for a total of112 intermediate double-deck coaches and 24 driving cars, all of 2nd class.
