Hitachi Rail Europe Wins RailStaff Award for Depot Team of the Year

Hitachi Rail Europe Ltd. (HRE) is today celebrating winning the RailStaff Award 2015 for Depot Team of the Year.

The award recognises HRE for its close collaboration with its manufacturing colleagues, which is driving a continuous improvement programme in Ashford and ensuring better reliability and maintainability.

The team was judged on its ability to set new standards for industry, exceeding customers’ expectations.

Managing Director of Hitachi Rail Europe Karen Boswell said:

Nigel King, Fleet Manager at Ashford Train Maintenance Centre, said:

“It’s great to be recognised for the hard work of the entire team in Ashford. Our state-of-the art Ashford train maintenance centre is recognised as a centre of excellence and has contributed to the Class 395 high speed services being scored among the best in the UK by fare-paying customers.We are proud to deliver a forward-thinking service, which has at its heart the passenger experience on the Class 395 Javelin™ train.”
