Leading UK rail manufacturer Hitachi Rail Europe has reached the major milestone of employing 1,000 people across the UK.
Today Hitachi Rail Italy delivered train number 1 of the new automatic Lima Metro. The first 6 cars of the innovative train, built in Reggio Calabria were unloaded at the port of the Peruvian capital. The train, made of aluminium is 108 m long and 2,85 m wide, has a capacity of 166 seated and 1,105 standing passengers, and is capable of reaching a max speed of 90 km/h.
Hitachi Rail Europe has achieved a major milestone on behalf of the rail industry as it bids to create extra capacity and greater reliability for passengers on the UK’s congested rail network.
