Stoke Gifford construction - time lapse film - high resolution

The film shows progress of the construction of Hitachi Rail Europe’s Train Maintenance Centre in Stoke Gifford, by construction company VolkerFitzpatrick. Through rain and sunshine, work has been ongoing since 2013. The Train Maintenance Centre will be home to some of the Class 800 and Class 801 trains on the Great Western Main Line, as part of the UK government’s Intercity Express Programme.

Hitachi Rail Europe Ltd. today celebrated the completion of the external building envelope at its Stoke Gifford Train Maintenance Centre currently under construction in South Gloucestershire, near Bristol. The brand-new facility will support and maintain the Class 800/801 trains the company is delivering through Agility Trains for the DfT Intercity Express Programme (IEP).
