Hitachi Rail shows strong presence at InnoTrans 2012

LONDON, UK, September 19, 2012 – Hitachi Ltd. today announced that the rail business of the company will have a strong presence at the upcoming trade fair InnoTrans 2012. The show takes place in Berlin, Germany from 18th to 21st September and Hitachi Rail will have a large stand in one of the most prominent halls, Hall 4.2, Stand 106.

The biennial show for the railway industry draws a global audience of more than 100,000 visitors. At its stand, Hitachi Rail is focusing on its European successes and capabilities which are drawing on the Japanese headquarter’s expertise – from manufacture and maintenance of rolling stock to traction, signalling and as well as Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

Centrepiece of the stand will be the model of a train cab, which provides a fitting environment to experience Hitachi Rail’s ETCS (European Train Control System) signalling technology in a real-time simulation. Interested visitors are invited to take a seat and experience the Signalling System first-hand.

Visitors can receive a demonstration of the Traffic Management System, which recently won Hitachi Rail Europe a contract to deliver a prototype in the UK. The system is tried and tested in many of Japan’s busiest train control centres.

A display of the broader product range of the Hitachi Group, which includes Data Centre technology, construction machinery and power plants among many other products provide a more rounded picture of the breadth of the Hitachi offering.
The show halls at Messe Berlin will be open from 9:00 to 18:00 every day from 18th September to 21st September.
