Hitachi Rail Europe debuts conceptual high speed train interiors
Railtex, Birmingham, 12th May, 2015 – In a global exclusive, Hitachi Rail Europe today released images of the conceptual train interior for its very high speed train at the UK’s flagship rail trade show.
These images have been produced with the help of extensive user research and passenger studies, and build upon Hitachi’s expertise in delivering rolling stock for HS1 and the iconic Shinkansen trains in Japan.
Managing Director Keith Jordan says: “We are delighted to be exhibiting at the UK’s largest rail exhibition and we would encourage you to come to the Hitachi stand and see for yourself our very high speed 3D virtual experience and let us know what you think about it.”
The high speed offering has been designed with the growing needs of passengers now and in the medium to long term, forming part of Hitachi Rail Europe’s headline vision for the future of high speed rail travel in the UK.
Visitors to the HRE stand (J11) at Railtex 2015 will be able to physically explore the concept of the new very high speed virtual concept through a 3D imaging showcase and a fully immersive virtual reality walk-through. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about Hitachi Rail Europe’s Class 800 train for the Department for Transport’s InterCity Express Programme (IEP). In addition, the stand will profile Hitachi Rail Europe’s signalling and traffic management systems as well as an update on the state-of-the-art rail vehicle manufacturing facility in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
There will be something for all our clients and customers at this year’s event, including a special area where you can find out more about job opportunities at HRE.
Representatives from the HRE senior management team and the Human Resources department will be on hand throughout the show to discuss how HRE is growing its business footprint here in the UK. There will also be colleagues from HRE working on the ScotRail/Abellio project who will be on hand to discuss the Hitachi AT200 train, set to transform train travel in Scotland from 2017.
Keith Jordan, Managing Director, Hitachi Rail Europe will be giving a presentation on Wednesday 13th May at 12:15pm covering "A Whole-Systems Approach to Railway Engineering".
