Hitachi Rail awarded contract by Trenitalia for the integrated logistic support on the Frecciarossa high-speed fleet
- Further recognition of Hitachi Rail wide experience in the high-speed rail sector
- Availability and delivery of materials within 48 hours increases the efficiency of the high-speed operations
10 March, 2021 – Hitachi Rail SpA announced today the signing of a contract with Trenitalia for the integrated logistic support of the ETR 500 - Frecciarossa high-speed fleet of 59 trains.
The contract value is €152,8 million and has a duration of six years. The contract also includes an option for two more years.
The contract for the integrated logistic support provides the management of the repair service and the management of the spare parts and train components through the optimization of the inventory stock levels and delivery of materials within 48 hours. This allows to further increase the availability and the efficiency of the high-speed operations in Italy.
The ETR 500 trains, commercially renamed as Frecciarossa in 2008, can travel up to a maximum speed of 300 km/h on the Italian high-speed lines.
