Hitachi Rail Europe debuts conceptual high speed train interiors

Hitachi Rail Europe today released images of the conceptual train interior for its very high speed train at the UK’s flagship rail trade show. These images have been produced with the help of extensive user research and passenger studies, and build upon Hitachi’s expertise in delivering rolling stock for HS1 and the iconic Shinkansen trains in Japan.

GB Railfreight today celebrated its relationship with Hitachi Rail Europe by naming one its Class 66 locomotives ‘Inspiration Delivered’ at Network Rail’s Rail Innovation Development Centre ( known as Old Dalby). Locomotive 66751 was named ‘Inspiration Delivered’ in collaboration with Hitachi Rail Europe and in recognition of the innovation and reliability of Hitachi Rail Europe’s business.

Hitachi Rail Europe named as FirstGroup’s preferred supplier to provide fleet of new AT300 trains for the South West

Hitachi Rail Europe announced today that it has been named by FirstGroup as preferred supplier, subject to contract, for the supply of 29 trains for the new First Great Western franchise, subject to approval by the Department for Transport.The 29 bi-mode AT300 trains would run primarily from London Paddington to Plymouth and Penzance, replacing 40-year-old High Speed Trains on the intercity route.

Hitachi Rail Europe signs contract with Abellio to provide new trains for ScotRail franchise

Hitachi Rail Europe and Abellio today announced that they have signed a contract for the provision and maintenance of 70 new trains for the upcoming ScotRail franchise. The trains are financed by Caledonian Rail Leasing. 46 three-car and 24 four-car AT200 EMU trains are procured to operate along the Edinburgh-Glasgow and Stirling – Alloa –Dunblane lines and will go into service in late 2017.
