Knorr-Bremse to Equip New UK Hitachi Trains
Hitachi Rail Europe announced that it has signed a contract with Knorr-Bremse which will see Knorr-Bremse supplying the braking system for the new Hitachi Class 800 series trains. The signing took place at the Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems UK (KBRS) facility at Melksham in Wiltshire at a ceremony which was attended by senior representatives of Hitachi Rail Europe and the entire workforce of KBRS.

Hitachi onboard ETCS technology successfully operating with Network Rail track-side system

Hitachi Rail Europe and Interfleet Certification, part of international rail consultancy Interfleet Technology, today announced that Interfleet Certification has been appointed as the Notified Body (NoBo) and Designated Body (DeBo) for the Intercity Express Programme (IEP), which will see Hitachi provide new trains for both the Great Western Main Line and the East Coast Main Line.
